First and foremost, thank you all for originating, managing and supporting this most excellent resource.

Regarding the changes:

I personally preferred the compact index, but I will probably get used to the more garish updated version and it probably looks better to newcomers.

When I look up my profile, I can only get the account/settings page, where can I now find the "recent posts" list?

Just curiosity - why have a 2 fingered "short cut" for submit or preview when there is a one-click button alongside?

I really miss the "read unread posts since last visit" and "new responses to your topics" links - or am I just not finding them in the new layout?

They are still there, but they are just called "Unread" and "Replies" in the new forum.

Top left of the page, next to "Hi Pejic" welcome message.

Speculation on my part, but probably there for people who are happier working with a keyboard than a mouse.  I know I find it interrupts the "flow" sometimes to keep shifting from one to the other.

Do I like it or not?

I do and I don't. The grey bars down the side I don't like and the font is squashed on the boards. Can't find previous posts but that might just need a bit of a play. I don't like the ads in the middle of threads at all, gets in the way of reading and breaks the concentration but them I'm easily distracted

I do very much like the facility to manage PMs - so much quicker and easier to do than before .

Like all things that change - you get used to it. Tho I will have to play with the font a bit to get it to best size. Having gone through a major upgrade at work when we changed our Outlook recently was a week of horror  - couple of weeks in you don't notice it any more. However this will I know have taken a lot of time and effort to develop and bearing in mind you have day jobs as well you must be knackered!

So there are a few things not quite right - we'll live. No IT changes are ever 100% on release in my experience.

The town of Bury must surely have a hob-nob shortage by now Thanks Trystan and Sarah as always for all your hard word to bring this facility to a worldwide community.

To all disappointed members - Persevere.  Remember how confusing it was when you first came to the old site.

I particularly like the scrolling of unread posts and the "go back" arrow on the new forum.

Exploring the features with an open mind, rather than trying to find old features is quite enlightening, and Berlin Bob gets back quickly if you really get lost.

I imagine like all things new,I will get used to this version and forget what the old one looked like.I started off by going back to my previous screen as I thought I was in the wrong place.
At the moment I find I can't read the posts easily as I am distracted,one by the given number of posts  on a subject which are right in the middle of the screen.
Plus it is too colourful but then I still like reading real books.

I'm not disappointed in the new look at all.  Like anything, there is change in our lives...this is just another one that we will need to get used to.
BUT......
I think I've past the stage of "going" crazy.  Any idea roughly when the chat feature could be up and running again?

its nice to have some colour in the site...   but for those of us who have widescreen laptops     half the screen is taken up by grey bars down the sides...

Looks Great - but "Help" !!  I cant find the button or starting a "New Post".  hmmm think my brain hasn't wakened up yet, it must be obvious - somewhere?
