I use IE and have no trouble accessing it either.

However, on another matter, re the PRINT facility...
Well, I was going to insert a 'quote' from a previous post but it won't let me go back that far.
Answer 423 on page 43.
When I click on PRINT it comes up as a black and white document but chases everything else away, so when I close the PRINT bit I'm out of RootsChat and have to go to favourites or an email message to get back in.  This didn't happen previously.  Has anyone else noticed it?

??? ??? ???
PS It also stops one from accessing the particular topic while looking at the print version ??? ???

Do you just click on "print" or do you open it in another window/tab ?

The latter is better, because then I can read long topics in the "print" tab, and also see the images and reply numbers in the other tab.

Hi Bob
Until now, I would just open it in the tab I was using, and be able to see the print version and the screen version at the same time, then close down the print version when I'd finished with it, and continue on with my reply or whatever.  But the new version does not apparently allow this, and flips me out.
I solved it today by opening two tabs with the same topic, i.e. this one, to check if the same thing still happened, which it did.  When I closed the print page I had only one tab open!

A bit odd, if we have to have something open twice so we don't lose our place ???

Thanks

I nearly always have several tabs open, so I have never  noticed that.
My normal working method is: "new replies" in one tab, and then Ctrl-Click to open anything I want to see in a new tab (firefox) I think with Opera that is Shift-Ckick and IE always opens a new window.

My problem in saving images, ......

I find I have to click on downlod image now, as 'Save as' no longer works for me here & it takes much longer to get photos to restore.

This doesn't happen in other sites so it must be something to do with the change,

Is there a fix for this ?

Thanks, Yvonne  :)

Do you mean you used to right click and save as?  Whenever I did that, I got a low-res image.  Clicking on the download link I always got the full-res version - was this the case with you?
Having said all that, I can still control-click to save as (I'm on a Mac) so I'm not sure why it's not working for you (if I understand correctly what it is that you're trying to do)

Hi Prue,  :)

Yes that's what I meant,

I didn't realise that caused the low resolution image though, but I did notice one of my recent restores was a lower resolution than the original when I used 'Save Target as' instead of 'Save as'.

Then I found it was just this site.

This is what I posted in the Technical thread ......

(When I right click on an image & choose 'Save as' I get a box saying ......

'the system cannot find the file specified'

then when I click on help this comes up ....

Cannot find C:\WINDOWS\system32\mshtml.help file. Do you want to try to find this file yourself ?

then says I need to reinstal it, would this be on the Windows XP backup disc ?

Is it just a coincidence this happened straight after the upgrade ?

I've been using 'save target as' at present, but photo size seems to reduce kbs.)

Hi Prue, :)

Just tried a 'Save as' & it worked !

no diminished kb size either, all is working again,  :D

Thanks again, especially if one of Rootschat magicians waved their wand,  ;D

Can I just ask a question?

Under modify profile you can change the number of posts you see on a page, the default is 10. Somehow I'd changed mine to 25, so whilst others were seeing page 18 on the YTG page, I was seeing 7. This doesn't really matter until page 20 is reached,  as we'll all be there at different times.  ;D Or do we stop looking at pages before we lock a topic and lock it after 200 posts?

Yes !  we had this discussion before, when the default size was changed from 20 to 10 posts/page.

Carry on locking TOT topics at 200 replies please :)

thanks,
Bob
