This is the problem I was trying to report earlier when I could not paste an image
See how the red brown font is thicker and thinner

I work in a Government dept and know to my cost how complicated any new IT changes are, so quite happy to try and give it time to sort out, but can anyone tell me if there is any replacement for the old 'new replies to your posts' that used to sit at the top of each page?  Can't find it anywhere, and that was really useful.

Top left - "Replies"! :D

Hi all, not sure if Ive found a problem but there does not seem to be a "Modify" button on the posts,
I only found out as I asked how to show a topic as completed and was advised to use the modify button. :o

Hi all, not sure if Ive found a problem but there does not seem to be a "Modify" button on the posts,

Top right of the post you wish to modify. Beside the 'quote' button.

It also appears bottom right of my posts above the IP adress and the "report to moderator" button, looks bit like a pencil on a triangular piece of paper.  It may depend on which browser you are using.

If I modify a post using the pencil et al icon, then it appears by quote, but you need to click the logo in the bottom for it to appear.  Mind you if I use this shortcut, I don't get the option to add an emotive icons.  If I then click modify, then they appear as an option, seems to be one is a full modify and one is just to modify text. ???

Hello...

My "Mobile" button seems to have disappeared. It was next to the green(?) Facebook link in the top-right corner but that space now belongs to a time and date counter. I'm guessing that the counter relates to replies #348 and #350 but I can't see where the "Mobile" button now resides.

For what it's worth, I fully appreciate the amount of work gone into the re-vamp. But now that the dust is settling I far prefer the "Mobile" look even though I'm browsing on a desktop. Otherwise there is way too much visual clutter.

All that's important is reading the thread and everything else (avatars, stars, adverts, borders, fonts, research interests) should be background noise. But they've all been given an equal voice and they're very noisy and simply drown out the thread....if you'll excuse my mixing audio and visual metaphors.

The "Mobile" button does away with the clutter but I can no longer find the button. Please help.

Thanks
Beg

Things are settling in, Trystan :)

Still having the photo upload problem....not only do get the "same filename" message, but I cannot change the filename in my photo editor. Says the name cannot be changed because the file is in use by another user. Which it is not. And when you're posting to Ye Inne and your filename is something like ye-meade-ande-sweetmeates1, you know there probably isn't really another photo with the same filename :P ;D

What's going on??

Cheers,
China

I think you're seeing a 'problem' that has always been there.  In the old forum, if you previewed a post which had an attachment, it would not accept the file name again when the Post button was used.  The 'other user' which is using your file is your browser.  You will need to close that down before you can re-name the file.

Best Wishes,  Nick.
