Hiya mumov3,

Problem is, if your grandma (Emily) didn't name the father on the birth cert and she and her sisters are keeping tightlipped then it is probably going to be difficult.  If your dad was christened you could check parish register because the vicar may have made a comment about who the father was.

Sorry not to be of more use  :-\

Hello, welcome to Rootschat

Firstly, are any of the people you've mentioned still living, if so you need to remove their names as we are not allowed to post about living people.

What does it have on your father's birth certificate? If there is no father then he probably was born before his mother married and really if she wont give him any information I'm afraid there is probably no way of finding his real father. I have the same situation with my brother in law, as his mother wont give him any details. The only thing he can do is keep asking people who might know in the hope that eventually he might get a lead.

Good luck

Welcome to Rootschat but this isn't a forum for tracing living relatives and I've had to remove details from your post as it's against the rules to post details of living, or possibly living, people.

Personal details of any people known or thought to be living will be removed, in accordance with RootsChat policy, to avoid spamming and other abuses. So people here will be able to give you general tips and hints how to proceed, but not any concrete details.

You will also find more tips here:

Hiya sorry.
The only ones alive that I know of is my grandma and my dad they have all passed away now.my dad has an early memory of catching the train to leigh/bedford to brunswick street where he had to go every day with a letter and return with another letter and money.
