Don't know why they could not give their loyal customers 50 credits on their balance.

My thoughts exactly.  They keep giving away all these freebies, but what about their regular subscribers.  I know they give us a discount when we re-subscribe but I think each time they give away free credits, they should extend our subscription period, especially as each time the free credits are handed out, the loyal subscribers can't access FindMyPast because of all the people taking advantage of free credits.

I do not think FindMyPast are are favouring non subscribers, I think it is to try to swell there membership?.
Also there is surely nothing to stop a "Loyal Subscriber" collecting the free credits also  ;D

Exactly my point Trish, I have a pay as you go subscription to F.M.P and have often used it to find information when I have been able to answer rootschatters questions who do not use FindMyPast. If it helps people to gain information then that is all to the good.  ;)

Yes, but you still have to renew your sub at the same time.  I've got 4 credits from the time FindMyPast used to give you credits if you pointed out a mistranscription, but what can I do with them.  Everytime I click on something that needs credits, I don't have to use credits because I subscribe, so the credits just sit there.

Anyway, as everyone disagrees with my point of view I'll shut up now.

No I didn't have to renew my subs at the same time, my subs are for renewal in Jan 2013 & I have a choice if I wish to renew or not, my choice will be to renew as I can find lots of things on FindMyPast that I can't find on Ancestry, especially mis-transcribed census records.

Hi All,

I used my second email address and the LCXMASFREE (Code) and it was accepted, so now I have my 50 free credits to FindMyPast.

I won't try and work out what happened with the 'SNOWFLAKE' code one.
That's the word I was trying to get in my head yesterday 'Loyal Subscriber' . :)
Thank you....
Sarra

It's all quite mysterious.

I did get my credits on both accounts using the SNOWFLAKE code, (used up a couple of credits on one account and saved my searches) but can find neither of them now, nor can I find my saved searches. It doesn't really matter as they were not important, but it's just a bit frustrating.

When I go to my account I can only see the 50 credits I got using the LCXMASFREE code.

Maybe I need to log out then log back in again? I will try that ...

Added: OK, that seems to have worked. I have found my remaining credits on my other account, as well as my saved searches. It will not allow me to add the LCXMASFREE credits to this. Mystery solved anyway. It looks like only one account per freebie on the one computer.  ;)
