« on: Friday 06 November 09 00:23 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for Henry Family from Ireland,  im not sure from where but maby anyone can point me to where the Henry Familes seem to be in Ireland, or maybe a connection.

I have James Henry born May 5 1809 Ireland,  he would have moved to Ontario, Quebec Canada before 1844.

I've split your post from other long Henry thread and moved it to Ireland-General board (since you don't know a location in Ireland) where it will have a better chance of getting answered.
Henry is a common surname in many parts of Ireland, especially in Ulster. To do any Irish research you need to know the family's religion (to find church records) and where they lived (parish if not actual townland- not just the county or 'Ireland').
Your James Henry was born well before the start of civil registration and many churches do not have records going back that far so it will probably be difficult enough to get information on his family in Ireland even if you did know where he came from.
However, there are various places you can check in Canadian records to see if there are any clues.
First- does his marriage or death certificate give any details about birthplace or parents?
Any details on headstone or in local paper when he died?
Any local histories about the area that he went to in Canada mentioning early settlers. etc.?
Any other branches of the family have information about the family?
Names of children?- often named for grandparents, etc.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

It does not mean a lot, but IFHF Website has two of the lads born 1809, one in Co Antrim and 1 in Co Cork

You can pay your 10 € and see if its one of yours, or try to get the info another way. If you do, start with the Antrim one.

If you want to see the spread of Henrys go to this Griffiths site and just put in Henry, it throws up all the places they were around 1850

Grant in Tipperary
Piper in Tipperary
Blong in Leix
Watson in Offaly
Pugh in North Wales
Evans in North Wales
Proctor in Edinburgh
Steedman in Stirling

Hugh's parents, Hugh Henry of Kilsora?, Killytoney and Martha Kissick.
Hugh Sr died when Hugh Jr was 5 years, and Martha when Hugh Jr was 16 years
Martha later married William Hazelet.
