Renumbering streets in Paisley 1923
« on: Saturday 15 December 12 13:35 GMT (UK) »
I came across this site and found it handy when I realised where I thought a rellie may have been born the streets have now been renumbered and it was probably across the road!  I tried to copy and paste the website but it didn't work so anyone interested just google and there is 31 pages of streets with old and new street numbers.

I found out that my Paternal Gran's old house was nearer to the Paisley end of Inchinnan Road rather than towards the airport part.  Well I hope I've got it right.  There are 2 houses still on Inchinnan Road that I would think would have been around in 1923 and they became 35 and 37 (now a B&B)  from Janefield and the North Manse.  My Gran lived in Avenue Cottage which became 17.  My Mum said she thinks it was bought under a Compulsory Purchase Order by the Local Authority from what my Gran told her but haven't got any further in my research into that!
