Elizabeth WOODS married Walter HEAD, 14th Aug 1893, Echuca, Vic. Her details; age 26, father William Woods, mother Nancy Qusick, & that she was born Castlemaine, Vic. A search of Vic bdm's returns, a nil result, as does NSW bdm's. one of her grand daughters said she thought there was something about Elizabeth being Irish & that the WOODS raised her.       Bryn...

There is no marriage for a William WOOD to a Nancy  on the Vic indexes.

Not sure if this is relevant but it does involve a Nancy Cusack getting married near Castlemaine in 1858.

The husband William Seal is being charged with bigamy in 1861 as he then intermarries an Annie Taylor while Nancy was still alive

Thank you all, I suspected an illegitimate birth, & with the diggings covering a large area it could have been anywhere.
The spelling of Nancy's was obviously a sticking point.    Bryn......

Nancy's marriage cert would give you the names of her parents.

cando; i now have her birth certificate, it verifies everything. Nancy stated that she was born in Belfast, Ireland.
And yes, i am well aware of the need to verify everything. Far too many don't.
