The link you sent is for another post that i have also put on this forum.  On this post I am specifically looking for Thomas Nicholas Boyd

To answer the other questions I am not sure when he emigrated to Australia and also I am not sure who his wife was.

www.freebmd.org.uk is the website we use for BMD's in England and Wales and although there are lots of Thomas Boyd marriages in a likely timescale - none have a middle name or initial matching Nichols/Nicholas. 

So - either he never married or he married in Australia or he dropped his middle name when he married.

Do Australian death certs give any info re: spouse?

Have you looked for an obit for him which may give some info

Re the post minnie/winnie

In 1901 the census show her as Winnie but by 1911 her name has changed to Marian.

Who is this Winnie? The baptism I have on 01/05/1892 shows she is baptised as Marian, her marriage is as Marian and her death is as Marian
