help with word on old photo

i have an old wedding photo
possibly early 1900s to 1920s.
across the corner is embossed the word[letters]       n u v k.   .     
any ideas   please.

If they are embossed, it sounds like it would be the initials of the photographic studio.
But if they are just written, then I'd guess they may be the happy couple's initials???

There is a big difference in style between the early 1900s and the 1920s...why don't you scan the photo (at 300dpi please) and post it on the photo board for dating...include the surrounding mount. Then you'll know what decade you have, and we'll all be able to see the letters.
