Simon WONES - Yorkshire
« on: Tuesday 11 December 12 21:38 GMT (UK) »
As a sidestep to my other post on a different board, I would love to know if anyone can find a birth place for Simon Wones. He could be connected to my tree, possibly via the holy grail of 'my' Woneses; "Edward". (See here for back ground info http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=626436.new;topicseen#new )

I'll copy and paste a snippet from an email I have from another fellow Wones researcher re Simon Wones...

"The other great conundrum which no one has yet been able to find is the actual parish/place of Simon Wones birth in Yorkshire, although the LDS record seems quite determined that he was born in the county in 1769 – the trouble is they don’t mention just where."

He immigrated from Yorkshire to Ohio with his family, he is believed to have been a school teacher/town clerk.

I'm not too interested in anything other than birthplace, at least, not until we've got the birthplace.

Thanks
