I have found the GRASMERE

1852 GRASMERE from Liverpool 16 - 05 1852 - Captain Thos. Campbell, 30 08 1852 R arrived Port Adelaide on 28-08-1852

Is there anything that makes you think they were on this ship? I ask as if there isn't anything, it is easier to go by the names of the families than by ship.

I'll be looking into this tomorrow and will get back to you if I find anything

Joseph Higginbotham/Alice Lithgow who had several children in Adelaide SA. namely Edward, Adelaide, Rose and Percy.  Edward was first born in 1879.  However, I do not have any detail on Josephs marriage and wondered whether he and Alice may have married in SA sometime before 1879.  Also, is there a shipping record of them sometime before 1879?

Regarding the marriage I will check tomorrow for you as I have to go to the library anyways.

As for shipping I will need an approx date as I cannot go through every single ships records as that would be an enormous task to do as the later shipping is not indexed.
So for example 1877 to 1879 just a couple of years between.

Forget the shipping record.  It is a long shot as I don't know when he may have come to Aust.  He may have come in via another port either NSW or Vic.  I don't know.  So, forget that one.

Looking for information on the immigrant ship the William Prowse arrived August of 1854.
Aborad were the Richard Family William wife Eliza and there daughter Eliza.
The following year they were in Ballarat Victoria.

CAZAY I have found nothing today but am heading to State Records next week or the week after so will check the shipping records down there.

MAXPAW I have found no James Fletcher CHOMEL at all in any indexes. I have only located a William CHOMEL who arrived in South Australia before 1866. Same as above I will check the State records shipping.

STONECHAT No records at all in any indexes for George Whateley HOLMES. Same as above I will check the State records shipping.

Higginbotham can be spelt several ways.  Higginbottom - Higginbothom
