Hi Shanko

Would it be possible to lookup marriages and deaths for two siblings.
Also if able to find their parents death details.

(1) William Swaby OXLEY b. 1858 Port Adelaide

(2) Harriet Ann OXLEY b. 1863 Port Adelaide

Parents are John OXLEY and Sarah Ann OXLEY (nee HAMS).
John Oxley may have been buried in abt. 1895 Alberton????????

Greatly appreciate any information.
Cheers
Kabana

Hi Kabana,

Ok some details for you:

I could not find marriage or death for either as yet but will look again for you next week, but I did find this bit of information for you incase you didn't have it:
William Swaby OXLEY - born 29/9/1858 his second name is spelt Sivaby
Harriet Ann OXLEY - born 19/7/1863

Parents details:
John OXLEY 48 married Sarah HAMS 42 at St Pauls Church, Adelaide 6/5/1869. Johns father is John OXLEY. Sarah's father is William HAMS.

John OXLEY died 26/7/1895 aged 78 district of Adelaide
Sarah Ann OXLEY (Nee: HAMS) died 7/7/1886 aged 59 district of Port Adelaide.

I have checked the larger cemetery databases and have not been able to locate them. BUT if you want any details on the death certificates let me know as I will contact a friend who will look for them and hopefully get those for me but it may be about 2 weeks before I get those details

I only do South Australia so the other statesI won't help with
As for the shipping records I can't go through approx 40 years so a time frame is needed. I hope you can appreciate going through each year to look for a certain family in these records is an enormous job which I am willing to help but not with that kind of searching.

The deaths I'll get back to you within a week and a half

Shanko

Heidi,

Sorry I don't understand your post.

I have looked for your Charles Hill but have yet to locate him.
The earliest date for South Australia shipping is 1836 prior to that were the other states. So your earlier years you might want to look in those other states.
Charles may of well come over to Australia and embarked in another state but travelled onland to South Australia.

I am still looking but please try the other states if you think he came over prior to 1836

Dear Shanko

I have just found out that James Fletcher Chomel was in South Australia before November 1865, if it is possible could you work back from that date to see when he arrived there.

Must apologize for this confusion, I have been told that he married for a second time. 1st in 1865 and again in 1876.

Hope I have not caused too much trouble.

yours sincerely

Shanko, Would very much appreciate your time for a lookup in immigration records.

I am looking for James McNicol c1819 Wigton, Cumberland and his wife Mary Dand. They had a son William Grasmere McNicol 'born at sea' 6 Aug 1852 so could have been on the voyage to Australia.

I have discovered that a ship named the Grasmere arrived in Adelaide about 28 Aug 1852.

Hope you can help.................Cazay
