hi shanko,
might be a long shot but wondered if you could help.
i'm looking for a Charles Doughty born 1879 in margate, kent, england and moved to australia sometime before ww1 as far as i'm aware.
his parents were called joseph doughty and clara packer.
would be greatful for any info.
thanks sharon
Sharon,

Unless you have a date range it will be impossible for me to check every single day in the shipping papers. I do not go through indexes as many have errors, I go through the actual papers from the ships.

Also do you know for sure they went to South Australia?

Hi Shanko, My 3xGreat-grandfather Daniel Glover 2 brothers Willam b 26/03/1833 and Philip 06/09/1835 emigrated to Australia sometime before 1857, I have philips death as Aug 21st 1857, but not cause of death.
I have all info on William and family up to his death in armidale NSW in1906. My query is what ship did they arrive on and what date did they arrive
most appreciated if you can help on this one
OWEN

Owen,
Since you have the deaths in N.S.W it might be an idea to check those shipping records first.
I do not have N.S.W shipping access I only have South Australia. Try placing a post in the main board I am sure someone will be able to help you with the N.S.W shipping

Would appreciate look up for following:

Edith Marie Tullett (born 1887) married in 1907 to William MARTIN. both from Sussex, England as far as I know.

Both came to Australia, early 1900's. Sorry not sure to where,or where from.

If you can find anything from this poor info I'd be very grateful.

Dear Shanko

How kind of you to offer to do these look ups!

I am interested in finding out shipping details of a Charles Hill b1827 in High Ham.  He lived and died at Nairne, SA where his first son, Mark, was born in 1851.  Somewhere between 1827 and 1851 he came to Australia.  He may have also come out with his wife, Mary Anne Baker but I am unsure.

Charles was a labourer so he may have come out on assisted passage.  I notice that you have Pikes index coverage as well as Hodge index coverage so I would be grateful if you could look through those.

Thank you kindly

Hi Shanko

Would it be possible to lookup marriages and deaths for two siblings.
Also if able to find their parents death details.

(1) William Swaby OXLEY b. 1858 Port Adelaide

(2) Harriet Ann OXLEY b. 1863 Port Adelaide

Parents are John OXLEY and Sarah Ann OXLEY (nee HAMS).
John Oxley may have been buried in abt. 1895 Alberton????????

Greatly appreciate any information.
Cheers

Shanko

Wonderful service you provide.

I am beginning to think my ancestor had very strong arms and swam to Australia.

Could you look up some shipping lists for me.

John Manners born 1841/2 Greenock Scotland, (possible parents John and Catherine or Margaret or combination, Manners.)

John married in 1866 Ulladulla NSW. On his death certificate 1909, states he had been in the colonies 53 years. Means he would have been about 13/14 when he arrived around 1856.

I located the names of 3 ships leaving Greenock arriving Port Adelaide folowing dates:
Trafalgar 13/11/1856
Washington 19/5/1852
Lady Emma 17/1/1854

There are a number of ships leaving Glasgow also but I thought I'd go for the most obvious, knowing John was born Greenock.

Any info most appreciated.
Dudley, Tipton, Worcestshire - ATTWELL, FISHER, RICHARDS, INCE, SHEERWOOD
Greenock, MANNERS, CAMPBELL, MONTGOMERY, LECKIE
