Shah,

Do you have any dates at all? That would make it so much easier to look them up if they were in South Australia

Hi Shanko ! How are you?

Well I'm still trying to find my Frederick Cooper born 1899 in Jersey Channel Islands/ Ireland - lived in Liverpool till approx 1920 -  then went to Australia and changed his name to Grice

The "naughty boy" - was not mine - more's the pity! I quite liked him!!::)
Any chance you could maybe try something else? I'd appreciate your help!!

Have a wonderful night!

Annie :P

Update on MaryAnn BARNFIELD.

Kris found out a great deal of useful info for me (thanks Kris!!) after her arrival in SA.

If anyone is able to tell me how and when she arrived, I would still love to know.

Many thanks in anticipation,

Hi Shanko

Thanks for your kind offer.

I am looking for the following relative:
Adam Barlow came over to Australia sometime between 1856-1859. He may have been traveling with his Dad. He was around 39 years old at the time. His father's name is John.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Reference a Samuel Gillard born 1822 and his wife Margaret born 1828, both in Cornwall. A child Ann was baptized 11 May 1846 in Cornwall, the next child Elizabeth was born in Adelaide 21 Jul 1848, they had another son John born 15 Jan 1852 in Adelaide and then went to try their luck in the Victorian goldfields. I have yet to find their arrival in Australia, could be a different spelling? Any help appreciated

I'm looking for any information on a Henry Lawson Walker born Australia - I believe South, likely Adelaide about 1858-9. He is recorded in Scottish 1881 census as aged 22.
I believe his father was John Cunningham Walker and mother Ellen Walker - I know there was an Ellen Lawson Walker born Adelaide 1871.
Any help gratefully received.

Martin
Hi Martin,
Apologies for the delay.

I found this for you:

Henry Lausen Walker (spelt Lausen on the micro fiche)
Born: 27/7/1858
Vol: 16
Page: 299

On the cd Henry's middle name is spelt as Lawson, some extra information for you:
Father: John Walker
mother: Elizibeth Lawson
Birth Place: Goolwa, South Australia

Hope this helps

Shanko

Thank you for your willingness to help lost souls!

I am completely at a loss to know anything about  an ancestor named Mary Crimmins, born supposedly in Adelaide about 1860, later to marry a man named Finnane at Sandhurst (Bendigo) in 1878, with her dying in Sydney in 1930.

Can you please tell me if and when she originated over your way?

Cleighton
(Melbourne)

Hi Cleighton,

I went through the births on microfiche and the cd and cannot locate the name 'Crimmins'. Is there another way of spelling it?

Get back to me and I'll look into it further

Hi Shanko

Thanks for your kind offer.

I am looking for the following:

Mary Ann BARNFIELD b c1827 Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire

Heinrich Christian Conrad BAUMGERTEL b c 1826 Lautenthal, Hannover, Prussia

According to submitted IGI records they married 13 Jun 1850 in Kensington, South Australia.

I do not know when Mary would have arrived - I have her in Gloucestershire on 1841 census, but not 1851 suggesting some time between the two (and before 1850 if the marriage is correct).

The same submitted record says she died 11 Aug 1881.

I would appreciate anything at all, but especially anything that might refer to her birth, parents and reason for emigration/ immigration.

Many thanks in anticipation,

Arranroots  ;)
