I'm looking for any information on a Henry Lawson Walker born Australia - I believe South, likely Adelaide about 1858-9. He is recorded in Scottish 1881 census as aged 22.
I believe his father was John Cunningham Walker and mother Ellen Walker - I know there was an Ellen Lawson Walker born Adelaide 1871.
Any help gratefully received.

Martin,

Sorry for the delay in replying. Due to circumstances beyond my control I have not been able to undertake any lookups over the last week.

I will however get onto them within the next 2 weeks. I do apologise for this.

Hi.
I am glad to read that you like challenges :D lol...
Ok.. From your list of goodies, these things interest me,
*Cemetery Records
*Shipping - Hodge Index
Part 1: Arrivals 1837 - 1845
Part 2: Departures 1837 - 1845
*Shipping - Pikes Index
*Index to Register of emigrant labourers applying for a free passage to South Australia 1836 - 1841
*A Free Passage to Paradise: Passenger lists of United Kingdom *Emigrants to South Australia 1836 - 1840
*Colonial residents of South Australia 1839 - 1848
*Adelaide Hospital Admissions : 1840 - 1853

I am looking for any information about George Henry Bras(s)ington. I know he married on the 13.11.1837 to Susan(nah) Davi(e)s in SA. Had two children while in SA, Phoebe B.1838, and Caroline B.1839. Phoebe born and DIED 1838 in SA according to LDS info.
I would love to know how George and Susannah got to SA, and how they got to(?back to) NSW. I think that it is very possible that they both lived in NSW before going SA. They definitely had moved to NSW by April 1841 as they had a child there.
Thanks for your time!
Liz

Hi Shanko,

I would like to take you up on your offer of South Australian lookups. I don't know whether you will be able to help me -  I am looking for the arrival of Thomas William Palmer and his wife Charlotte Jane Palmer in South Australia. They were married in Exeter County of Devon in September 1865 and their daughter Elizabeth was born in South Australia the next year. They resided in South Australia for 5 years before living in Victoria for the rest of their lives.
I would be most grateful for any information you are able to give me.

Regards,
Alex

Hello Shanko,
I would appreciate a lookup of arrivals in South Australia please. I have a brickwall which I have been working on for some time. My 2 x great grandparents Thomas Veale and Charity Edwards were in Melbourne in 1850 when their son was born. I have not been able to find when they arrived in Australia - there are no records of them arriving in Victoria or New South Wales. I know quite a lot of migrants came overland from Adelaide to Victoria so am wondering if Thomas and Charity did the same.

Regards

Shanko

Thank you for your willingness to help lost souls!

I am completely at a loss to know anything about  an ancestor named Mary Crimmins, born supposedly in Adelaide about 1860, later to marry a man named Finnane at Sandhurst (Bendigo) in 1878, with her dying in Sydney in 1930.

Can you please tell me if and when she originated over your way?

Hi Shanko

Thanks for your kind offer.

I am looking for the following:

Mary Ann BARNFIELD b c1827 Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire

Heinrich Christian Conrad BAUMGERTEL b c 1826 Lautenthal, Hannover, Prussia

According to submitted IGI records they married 13 Jun 1850 in Kensington, South Australia.

I do not know when Mary would have arrived - I have her in Gloucestershire on 1841 census, but not 1851 suggesting some time between the two (and before 1850 if the marriage is correct).

The same submitted record says she died 11 Aug 1881.

I would appreciate anything at all, but especially anything that might refer to her birth, parents and reason for emigration/ immigration.

Many thanks in anticipation,

Arranroots  ;)
