Hi again Darell,
I'm sending the 'reverse marriage' link again in case the fault is at this end.

http://www.openwindows.com/marriage/search.htm

I am starting to think(as you say) that given what Joey and you and I now know that the man was always in the West and only Sylvia came from SA

West. Aust has not much to offer in online family history search.  This link may help, but the bmd's, as Joey says, are limited and you probably won't be easily able to get much after 1905.

Thanks again,

Hi Shanko :)
Thanks for your offer.
Death registration index 1842-1915.
I am looking for the deaths of Ada Williams b2-12-1878 at Crafers and Francis Richard Williams b2-01-1886 at Stirling East, father John and mother Fanny Jane.
They would have died between their birth dates and 1889 as the family was in NSW by then and two children died in Broken Hill in 1889 and have found no record of Ada and Francis in NSW or West Aust.
Regards
EddieW

Hi Shanko,
I have been looking for my grandmother, ETHEL UGUNHART, for a long time. The surname has been spelt in a variety of ways. Supposedly born around the Pt Augusta area but after 2 attempts at a birth cert the surname is not in the registry for births. I was wondering if you are able to do a search for the first name only 1884 to 1888. Father is supposedly George William, miner. Have searched NSW, Vic & SA for anything for UGUNHART but nothing. Thought to be scottish & I thought just HART might be a possibility. I appreciate your help.

Hello Shanko
I have another mystery man , a grand uncle Samuel Russell born in Northern Ireland (probably in Larne,Co Antrim) around 1863 and who migrated to Adelaide on the "Merkana"arriving 18 November 1884. His ultimate destination in Australia  is unknown. However he came to South Africa in time to succumb to the Black Flu in 1918 after  having abandoned his unfortunate  wife on the grounds that he was drunk when he agreed to marry. (This may have been sometime just before  his arrival in Cape Town)
Could you please look if he married in South Australia?
It is a long shot I know.
Many thanks.

Hi Shanko,

I appreciate that you must be very busy but I feel the need to kill off some relatives.  But first, some history....

In 1838 Francis Finey carted his wife Maria and his entire brood of kids across from England to Adelaide on the "Lloyds".  Various manifests claim the following family members landed:

FINEY Francis - b.1834 in Pagham, Sussex.  Labourer and fisherman.
          Maria - wife of Francis
          John - b.1821
          Catherine/Katherine - b.1823
          Jane - b.1826
          Robert - b.1830
          Stephen - b.1834
          Maria - b.1836
Edward - b. 1838 on board ship.  Given the middle name 'Lloyds'
plus    James - b.1847 (bit of an afterthought)

The family settled in Brighton, South Australia and proceeded to marry, die, move, etc.  As they were there for some time (bar the odd one wandering off) they became a large family.

Please I need your help to track down those who died and were buried in the Brighton area so I can complete my information.  I know some marriages were at St Judes in Brighton and I'm hoping some are buried there.  They may be buried at other cemeteries that are around Brighton but the family definitely lived in Brighton creating a mini empire of a clan.  I know that all of the Finey's are mine but St Jude's information is not online.

I also know that Catherine Finey married a Joseph Lidiard (sp) and at least had a daughter called Maria.  Jane married George Bament.  Stephen married Emily Oates and had nine kids all in Brighton.  Edward moved to WA.  James died at Maclaren Vale in SA but I don't know where he is buried.

That is the bare minimum on the family.  I'm very interested on what the cemetery indexes may say.  I'm looking for anything that may help me with more complete dates of birth or place of burial.

Sorry to rabbit on a bit (but you'll see that's in my name).

Thanks so very much.
