James Currie Grosse Point Michigan
« on: Sunday 09 December 12 22:40 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm looking some information on my Gt Grandfather (Samuel Currie) brother James, who was born in Tardree, Co Antrim Northern Ireland but moved to Michigan 1923. I have found him on the 1930 census. I know he came home for a visit to NI in 1948 with his wife Betty but cannot find anymore information on either of them since then.
Is there an easy way to find out an obituary or death details for him? I have tried a lot of sites on the web but still no further forward.
Thanks
Amanda

Do you have a date of birth for him?

Thanks for the replies. I should have mentioned in my questions how would I find out where he is buried? Would there be any local newspapers etc?

He doesn't appear to be in the Grosse Point obituary index - http://www.gp.lib.mi.us/obitindex/

The Detroit public library does obituary look-ups for a fee - http://www.detroit.lib.mi.us/specialservice/obituary-search

I think the death certificate would probably include the place of burial, if you wanted to order that.
