Here's my wish list:

1. The facility to "Mark all posts read".

2. A "Back to top" button at the foot of each page (or even better, a facility to navigate to other boards)

3. In Search, the default tick removed from the "Search All" box.

I'd far rather time was spent on these than on purely aesthetic tweaks.

You're in luck for two out of those three anyhow. :)

I noticed it immediately but not sure about it
I preferred the fact the roots spread across the length of the old logo
but feel this is more eye catching than the old one

Change is always good it keeps us on our toes and makes us relook at things - maybe even find lost relatives!

Also I prefer serif characters, they are easier on the eye - the t's look unfinished and keep a capital C for chat

I am going a step further and saying here's my altered logo!

Kearney & Bourke/ Johns & Fox/ Mannion & Finan/ Donohoe & Curley
Byrne [Carthy], Keeffe/ Germaine, Butler/ McDermott, Giblin/ Lally, Dolan
Toole, Doran; Dowling, Grogan/ Reilly, Burke; Warren, Kidd [Lawless]/ Smith, Scally; Mangan, Rodgers/ Fahy, Calday; Staunton, Miller
Further generations:
Brophy Coleman Eathorn(e) Fahy Fitzpatrick Geraghty Haverty Keane Keogh Nowlan Rowe Walder

I really must apologize for the changes are coming up. Is there any way we can make any changes easier for you?

Thank you Trystan but I dont think so.

Like Janan, I find it really difficult to adapt to change, especially web sites.   :(

If you can think of any way to ease the way for you (or for us) then I'm all ears. Is there anything in particular that makes it more difficult?

Things that make change difficult for me....

Moving things eg changing orders, moving position of buttons

Altering name of things

Drastic colour or pattern alterations so I can no longer find things even if they haven't moved or changed their names

but the key one is

Too many changes all at once - do it gradually and it is easier for me to adapt

Also the fact that you have announced you will be making changes is very helpful, thank you :)

I like the new logo, but I hate it when there are changes to website - amazon has all changed recently and I avoid going on there now - I hope you're not changing much.  ???

The roots look a bit 'Harry Potter' if you know what I mean  :-[ (a bit spidery and I hate spiders!)

Maybe if they looked more like an organisation 'tree' off the letter 't' as I like myluck!'s idea...

As a systems implementer may I suggest an entry at the top of the unread list (keep it at the top) whih contains details of the changes, what they are and why you changed it,  might help with the change management.

Hugs

I just hit my 'home' key to go to the top of the page (and my end key to reach the bottom)  :-\
