I think it must be difficult trying to please everyone by putting every suggestion into practise.

Keep up the good work Trystan, I'm sure we are all very appreciative.

My own wish is to be able to de-select certain forums from notification?
I have no interest (for example) in Scotland or Photograph reconstruction!
Well, you must have replied to them, to be notified that someone has added to them!
You can always elect after the first notification, not to be notified. They will still appear in your unread ones, but you can just get rid of them then by opening and going straight on to something else.  That's all I do.

Yes, and I would love to be able to mark all posts read which is a common feature on forums. There are thousands upon thousands of posts which I will never read, and yet they all carry a distracting "new" tag unless I physically open them. I do so wish I could clear them.

If it's not possible to give us a "mark all posts read" button, is there perhaps a way that the settings could be adjusted so that unread posts only show up as "new" the first time we visit the forum after they've been posted, and not on subsequent visits?

Well, Sloe Gin, you'll just have to discipline yourself not to look at all new things  :P  :P  :P and only at the subjects that interest new.  I think it would be nigh impossible for the system to remove the 'new' tag for some people and not for others!   ;D  ;D  ;D

Some forums have the topic change colour when you have read it (like when you open a hyperlink and it changes from blue to red)
This can be useful if you didn't reply to a topic and you want to relocate it

And while you're at it Tryst  can we have a button we can press to order a cup of tea and a digestive as that's a bit difficult to do when we're busy looking for our ancestors  or chatting about Family History stuff ........ ;) ;D ;D ;D

Seriously though Tryst and the gang....A really big Thank You for the time you spend making our  time on this forum just such a positive experience when there are so many places where the opposite is happening. Thanks.

I agree Poll - this is a fantastic site. There are some aspects I'm not so keen on, but I can live with them, as the positives far outweigh the negatives. Thank you all who put so much effort into making it work.

Just noticed - the Christmas Smileys are back with my favourite  :D :D :D
