Edward or Ernest?

There is a birth for Edward Ernest Shanks in Sept. Q 1893 in Taunton Somerset 5c 323 - might that be him?

Possible marriage in June Q 1926 Bristol to Norah V Homes
but I can't find him in the 1901 census
