I also agree with all that`s been said. It was far more interesting than the rest of this last series that I have watched.

It was interesting the bizarre changes of direction of Charles Bishop's career

Nothing like what I thought it was going to be.
Still I thought it was a good one and interesting about the career of Charles Bishop. Gives me hope to find out more about my musician soldier who became an exciseman
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

Fascinating stuff, lots of unexpected twists - unexpected to the viewer as well as to John Bishop. Good to see the various record sources in action.

BBC saved the best 'til last!
Quite fascinating.
Brilliant - and John Bishop was genuinely pleased with what he found out about his ancestors.

Enjoyed this episode.
They picked the most interesting relatives.
I wonder if John will "do" the rest of his family history.
I did wonder where Charles found the money to get out of the army.

Best of the lot, and made so much nicer by John Bishop who seemed genuinely interested, and engaged.
