Television factory Pontypridd?
« on: Wednesday 05 December 12 21:52 GMT (UK) »
Hello

Does any one know anything about about a television factory in the Pontypridd area in the early 1950's?

Have just discovered a rellie worked there as an 'assembler in television factory'

Was it a major employer? Is it still in existence or if closed, when did it close?

Would be pleased to hear any memories.

Thanks

Diane

Pretty sure there was Rediffusion TV setup in Pontypridd, they have a past employees site so check for your rellie

Send an email to Pontypridd Reference Library for info

Hi lazydaisy,
As Hercule Poirot stated there was a Rediffusion Factory in Pontypridd. I has an uncle that worked for Rediffusion out of this building in the 1960's. It is on the corner of Common Road and Llanover Road, Pontpridd and is now called Llanover House, this part of Common Road was also known locally as the Corn Stores Hill.
Hope this is of some use to you.
Retpara.
