Looking for any information on John Miles who died in 1828. I assume in England or Ireland?

Hi again,

There are dozens of John Miles around England who died about 1828.

Two were definitely 1828 that I found
John Miles died 50 years in 1828 at Paddington Green, St Mary, Westminster birth abt 1778
John Miles died and buried 18th April 1828 at Gillingham birth about 1744.

Have to go out now so will come back later to see if we have anymore information.
Good luck

Hi Blairsmith

Welcome to Rootschat :)

Tell us everything you know about John and then I hope we will be able to assist you. Without a bit more information it is going to be wild guesswork as it is a common name. I see you have also posted on the Channel Islands board

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,622181.msg4744965.html#msg4744965

- is there a definite connection there? And what do you know of Lucy? Is she the wife of the John who dies in 1828?

Why do you think John could have died in Ireland?

Jan ;)

Thanks so much for your responses! Unfortunately all I have is a string of amber beads (not sure if real or not) that has a clasp with a plait of hair encased in it and on the back is engraved "John Miles Died 11 Oct 1828 Aged 49". I was given them by my grandmother Lorne Nash (South African) who was first married to my grandfather William Wallace Blair (Irish) Born 1890, deceased 1930(?) and then Humphrey DeWet (South African). I do not know from which side of the family this connection could be.

Hi again - I have an original birth certificate of my grandfather William Wallace Blair born 21/03/1890 to parents Robert James Blair (a Printer)and Margaret Anne Blair (nee McClements) in County of Tyrone, Ireland! So maybe the connection is on the McClements' side??
Regards
Cheryl

Hi Cheryl, just wanted to say I have a John Miles in my tree (several actually...son named after dad, named after grandad etc) mostly from Gloucester and Wolverhampton areas but if and when you know a bit more about your John Miles hopefully could try and see if there might be a connection (a bit optimistic of me but u never know ;))
Best wishes Lisa (formally a miles  :))

Hi Blairsmith
I'm the person who posted the question about the John Miles who moved to the Channel Islands.  Although we have several John Miles in our tree, none of them died anywhere around 1828.  Sorry ..and good luck with your hunt.
