help identify uniform please

Trying to find which regiment my grandfather Thomas William Davis b 1899 Sheffield West Riding, served in.
Any help wouild be amazing .

Tina,
Extremely difficult to identify regiment as there are no clues in the form of shoulder titles or cap badge,Is there anything on the back of the pic Is it the full photo. Was he in ww1 - did he surive? are there any medals or letters home from him, these are the vital pieces of info in order to identify his regiment.

Hi James ,
Thanks for your reply . There is nothing on the back of the photo , yes he served in ww1 and he did survive . The only thing my Father was told he was in Germany . He would not talk about the war . No medals or letters that I know of sorry . Sorry I know its not much to go on thanks for trying .

Just asked my father and he said he  thinks he  was in Cologne because my grandfather was amazed that the Church was untouched and he said how beautiful it was, I know its not much. But that is all he would say on the matter .
