Can any one tell me the history of Wayman street monkwearmouth when was it built and has it been rebuilt and when and if it has been rebuilt is it in the same location

Wayman Street was built about 1880. It was demolished sometime around 1980.
What is marked as Wayman Street now was actually the back lane that was between the old Wayman Street and Eglinton Street http://goo.gl/maps/0c3YX The area between Eglinton Street and Southwick Road was redeveloped, and you can see the new houses in Wayman Street at http://goo.gl/maps/aQnnx

Hi Stan  thanks for information ,My ancesters lived in Wayman Street from 1881 census to 1901, I thought it had to have been demolished but did not expect it to have been as late as 1980 I was around at that time living up at Wear View but could not remember the revamp of that area.

The old Wayman Street is still shown on the 1974-1977 O.S. map, but the re-development is on the 1987 O.S. map which is why I said about 1980. See http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html?=439395,558258
My great uncle lived in Eglinton Street in 1881, and in 5 Wayman Street from 1894.

 If I remember rightly Wayman Street was a mix of cottages and up and downers. Now that I have looked at the map I realise that I have drove through the revamped streets after visiting the chipy in Crozier Street and heading the back way to Southwick passing part of  the college
