The name doesn't seem to appear in the previous 2 generations of Jacob Vandeventer 1785 or Abraham Vandeventer 1753. Could be the Deffenbaugh line, haven't seen enough information on that one.
Otha is a boys name - the meaning is "wealth"

Perhaps it does come from the Deffenbaugh line - Could be a version of Otho
Mary Elizabeth had a brother Otho Deffenbaugh, Sr 1814 - 1888. Orth also had a son Otho Deffenbaugh Jnr 1845 - 1928
