Married in Liverpool and on 1871 & 1881 census there.Any pointers to birth records would be a great help.

Hi Pam
Thanks for prompt reply.I doubt that these are the same as both Josephs were ship engineers which has been proved on the wedding cert for Joseph jnr.
Thanks again

The only census I can find in 1861 is the one Pam posted, the family are also there in 1851 - 113/114, Glengnock Iron Works, Kilbirnie, Ayrshire. Joseph's place of birth Old Monkland, Lanarkshire.

I am just wondering if they both became Ships Engineers between 1861-1871, the jobs would be related?
However that might be a little irrelevant because more importantly I cannot find a birth record on Scotland's People for Joseph around 1845 anywhere in Scotland?

Many thanks Colin
The only information apart for family myth came from family search, and showed his father as Joseph and Mother as Jennet but cannot prove or disprove this.i tried Scots people and like you found no baptism for him.
