missing children
« on: Friday 23 November 12 19:50 GMT (UK) »
hi am unable to find the whereabouts of john hope born 1856 and Mary Jane Hope born 1858 on the 1871 census. Father Ralph Hope  died in 1867.  At the time they were living at Willington County Durham.  Have been searching for many yrs as curious why they were not with their elder sibling.  Thank Carol

On the 1861 census, father Ralph is a widower.
So, when he died, they would have been left as orphans?
