carrutc2
welcome to this mad world of family research
I don't have information on George but just for your information

I was researching a family that I had the burials in Mount Jerome for 1890s up to 1914
some were Protestant and some Catholic
I logically expected their son and his wife to be buried there also in the 1940s/1950s
but they weren't and no matter how hard I looked I could not find them

By a pure fluke while attending a funeral in Tallaght's St. Maelruan's CoI Church about 10 years ago
I saw their headstone! They are buried there with a son and daughter-in-law.

Strangely all four lived as Catholics so why they are buried in a Protestant churchyard I haven't worked out!
Also as almost every other relative who died in the last 130 years is buried in Mount Jerome.
I would never have looked here in a million years!

So my lesson learned was never rule anywhere out, look anyway and look everywhere
Families are funny!!!!

Hi, I'm new to this
Was checkin up on my late brother, when I came across this post
just to let you Know that most of the families mentioned . . . Carruthers & Colgans where my family
The George Carruthers that your looking for was my Grandad if that helps, he left behind a big family,
One been my dad, another George Carruthers (the watchmaker/repairer) and the rest, as you may know where my late aunts & uncles.
So any specific questions, just ask.
B.Carruthers
