Northamptonshire Regiment deserter Fred HODGES

Two things John.

Firstly yes I did contact Wellingborough Museum and had a reply on the 
26.11.2012 as I often help with information to them and vice versa.

I also trawled on the same day for a possible Fred Howes as I had
found out his father David married an Elizabeth Howes at Kelmarsh
(just been driven through on the way home).

Elizabeth HOWES, otp,full age,spinster,father William,labourer

Then whilst in Northampton Library I saw earlier refernces to Fred in the
Newspaper Archive and tried to find a baptism in the Parish Records,
but presumed it must have been N.C.

Will keep him in mind when I am able to look at things again.

Fred was baptised at Wellingborough All Saints on 3 December 1883, the same day as his younger sister, Ethel.
According to Ancestry, the Fred HOWES who was in the Warwickshire Regiment joined up and was born in Coventry. If this is really Fred HODGES, he was lying about his birthplace too. So I looked for a Fred HOWES born in or near Coventry. All I could find was an Alfred HOWES born in Foleshill. I am now trying to find out if this is the same chap that joined the Warwickshire Regiment. If it is, then he is obviously not Fred HODGES. If it is not, the possibility remains open.
