Spelling of surname may be making it difficult to find all the children but... this may be William in 1911 census (10 months old in 1911 would be about right):
William Alfred A. Devito Apr./June 1910 Hackney

If 'Alfie' is William Alfred A. it might be that you need to search for William Devito in U.S.

This does seem to be the right guy.  Further information available on the US thread, including a 1981 death in Florida.

My daughters are related to the Devito family in the Irish records. Ernesto is their Great Great Grandfather. He did own a hairdressers and I believe died from falling off a ladder! :-\ He had 2 sons Victor and William, no daughters that I know of. I'm afraid I dont know of Alfie but I do know that the family did disperse and that some did go to america and that one did open a hotel, so it sounds like the same family! I

Alfie and his wife didn't have any children unfortunately. They might have lived in Michigan for a while. His mother in law was a Florida Cleland and his wife Sarah Ann known As sadie

Regarding Ernest Di Vito/De Vito of Portrush, Northern Ireland, just thought I would update you that this is not the same Ernesto born in London.  My uncle Ernest, of Portrush, was born later, of parents Magno & Maria who married in Scotland before coming to Ireland, & the family were ice-cream & chips makers in the early part of the 20th century, before Magno moved to the Republic on the outbreak of WWII.
