There is another 1871 entry for a James Hutchison basket maker b 1849 England and living in Berwick with wife Margaret b England and son Peter aged 1 b Berwick

In 1881 the family are in Alnwick Northumberland with James & Margaret shown as b Scotland as well as Peter  RG11 Piece 5122 Folio 49 Page 21

In 1891 they are still in Alnwick birthplaces for James & Margaret now Northumberland??   RG12 Piece 4264 Folio 88 Page 8

And if they could be matched up to the poorhouse James, that would be it.

He was in the 1891 census with Maryann then.

He is not the England/Scotland James married to Margaret.  I have just checked him on earlier censuses and his parents were John & Queenie (he had a brother Peter as well)

It's looking more like the 1871 lodger living in Peterhead
