I put both MOOR & MOORE into find a grave but no hits at St Ives Churchyard in Durham so that seems a dead end too

Findagrave only lists memorial stones in the churchyard. You need a look up of the actual burial registers.

Well, you now know where Sarah Jane is - at Leadgate as stevej and I suggested!

I suspect husband James will be there as well. Sadly the Evening Chronicle for 1938 doesn't yet appear to be available online.

(If you start a new thread on the same topic it's really helpful if you can add a link to it to save peoples time looking for something when it's already been found  :) )

St Ives Leadgate burial records, I tried find a grave but got no result or when I put her name into the durham record office site.
I would like to finish it off with a grave if possible and I think James maybe there too?

As far as I'm aware Leadgate burial records aren't available online. As I said before, findagrave only records memorial inscriptions found on gravestones, so if there isn't a stone for them at Leadgate you won't find them on there. In any event the Leadgate records on findagrave are incomplete, as several of my Reed ancestors are there, with gravestones, and they aren't on findgrave

The site I mentioned https://www.durhamrecordsonline.com/NewSearch.php is nothing to do with Durham Record Office. It is an independant pay-per-view site which has a variety of records, but none for Leadgate.

This is what they have available at the moment (but more come online all the time) https://www.durhamrecordsonline.com/Parish_Record_Info.php and you can see they don't yet have any records for Leadgate.

Just to say that the Findagrave records for Leadgate St Ives are incomplete.( They claim they are 99% complete). My g grandfather William Ward is buried there (he died in1918) but he is not showing on Findagrave. I have seen the gravestone and have photographs of it. The stone is quite legible - I saw it as recently as 2012 when I attended my late Uncle's funeral there.

William

Added: Just read your last post,Jen.It makes you wonder about the 99% complete claim.

If you want an actual copy of the burial register for Sarah Ann Moor you could contact Durham County Record Office who would have no trouble in locating the record, since you can give them the date of her death.

If I read the table of charges correctly you would have to pay £5.00 for this to be emailed to you  http://www.durhamrecordoffice.org.uk/media/16746/Fees-and-Charges-2019-20/pdf/CHARGES_2019-20.pdf

They might also take a look for James's burial, but I'm unsure how much they would charge as you don't have the exact date. I suspect he'd be at Leadgate as well. They were most helpful in finding a burial for me a few years ago.
