Wray George L.S.     I need help to find his parents and grandparents etc pls.
I have from the County of Tyrone website

Hi,
Your announcement was taken from a local newspaper, the Londonderry Sentinel of the 13 Feb 1836. The Rev. McCarron was a Roman Catholic priest.

I have a strong notion that this was Dr. Uriah McDowell of Clogher Town. . I will have to check.
His brother was Samuel McDowell,'Yellow Sam' in  Carleton's book, an estate agent for Cadogan Keating, Dean of Clogher. I think another daughter married a Millar and some descendants went to the USA. It was not unusual to have
McDowell's being Catholic as some came to Ireland before the Reformation 1500's. All the McDowell's and Scots were Catholic as were the Stewarts of Scotland. I will check my files. best regards, Peter
