....Is there any other way of establishing the details of the actual grave and possibly obtaining a photograph ??
....

For a photo you would probably need to establish the plot number so the grave could be found first.

Headstone Transcriptions and matching photos for many graves in Mount Jerome are available on the IGP website.

I dont think there's a grave number available yet... just a mention in the Times

see : Re: Nixon, Mary Anne - location of grave in Dublin

I just tried IGP web to see if this grave is included in recent updates, but site seems to be having problems at the moment..

Hi shanew147

I tracked a site which had headstone photos (Probably IGP) for Mount Jerome and searched for the name 'Nixon" .

Unfortunately my particular Nixon was not present.

Myluck

I have responded to your generous offer by PM hope it comes thru !

Cheers

Robert

I happened to be on to Mt J today on other business and they tell me there is no stone on that grave.  You could have sent an email to them for that sort of information and grave ref B 104/ 355  grant no 9981.

Hi annieoburns

Many thanks for the grave site info. Thats amazing.

When I looked at the MJ site earlier I got the distinct impression that they charged for anything and everything !

Hi all

Do bankruptcy records from 1890 still exist in Dublin ? If so how can they be accessed ? Do any web sites have such information ?

I have traced a few newspaper records which suggest that Mary Nixon may have been present in the Bankruptcy Court in September 1890 and would like to follow up.

Cheers

I had a chance to look at a couple of old Thom's today and I see a listing for a John Nixon, grocer and vintner, at 80 Upr Dorset Street in 1885(ish) and 1890 but not  1895.

Shane do you have any Thom's for early 1890s?  Might be interesting to see what year the listing disappeared.  Could be a son of John senior of course.  I can't actually see any death of a John Nixon in Dublin North in the early 1890s.
