I am looking for information on the families or descendants of Richard and Eliza Butler and Andrew (a schoolteacher) and Jane Kerr who apparently emigrated to Australia from Cavan / Monaghan in Ireland in the mid 1800s. They may have a connection with Rathmolyon in Co Meath.

just after the middle of the 1800s is the period of griffiths valuation, which might pinpoint where the family came from excluding famine wipe. I will peep and return

KILLASHANDRA  CROSSERLOUGH  LAVEY     CASTLERAHAN are four civil parishes in Co Cavan in ask ireland griffiths valuation for where Kerrs are living, if you work around all the counties and surnames you may build useful picture of where they come from.  But usually the Oz resource gives stronger clues
