Help with a surname
« on: Saturday 10 November 12 18:45 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,

On the below image, I can't figure out what the surname is for Susan - I know it says:

Nicholas Childe and Susan ??????

Any ideas are welcomed :-)

Thanks Anna

Surely it's also Childe?

Hi Anna :)

It looks to me like the same name again - 'CHILDE'

I think you are right, it does look like either Childe or Childes ... very strange - this marriage took place in 1619 in St Gregory By St Paul, London, England, but the couple were both from Kent.  Looks like they might have been related in some way?

Thanks
Anna

Definitely Childe - it's written exactly the same way as the groom's name.
