"d~~gs good of the Car / isn’t it love to Bob / and H and his Wife and / best love to you both
S H Riston (although possibly Nichols)"

"Am really struggling with the 'd~~gs' word as it's little more than a scribble"

I would suggest that they are referring to their "mugs" ie faces in the first photograph along with the car. "What do you think to our mugs, good of the car"

The "FU" registration was used in Linconshire from August 1922 through to June 1929

Regards

Malky

Agree 'mugs', but the writer capitalises words like 'Home' and 'Car',
so suggest its 'Mugs', which leads me back to 'we enjoy being with....',
which I think may be followed by 'M A' or 'M &'. (Not enough writing there for 'all').

vv.

Good evening,

The car looks like a 1922/1923 swift 12hp, 4/5 seater with that type of body. Not 100% certain but thats my best guess.

Yes, I can see 'Mugs' now and that does make total sense  :)

Do you all think Hawthorn St is right or could it be Northern St or even something else?

I couldn't see why Mugs would have a capital letter in that context, and while scratching my head about what it could be.....

It is their pet name of the car  :D :D Mags

.. now what do you reckon to our doings Mags - good of the car isn't it

The badge on the windscreen is the road fund licence.

Not sure if this could help pin down the year the photo was taken as the design is very similar to the early fifties. Not sure when the road tax came in but I do think it unusual that the tax is on the outside of the screen instead of inside.

Yes I think it is probably Mags- a name for the car.

"we enjoy being with MA" possibly Ma as in mother? :-\

Really not sure about the street name though Hawthorn does look a possible
