How do you find a death of someone who may have died between 2005 and2012 if you don't no the date of death.

I don't think the indexes from 2005 are available online?

You need to visit one of these places to see the printed indexes:

Birmingham Central Library
Bridgend Reference and Information Library
City of Westminster Archives Centre
Manchester City Library
Newcastle City Library
Plymouth Central Library
The British Library

I'm probably way out of date.  Presumably the printed BMD indexes are no longer available at St. Catherine's House in London?

The GRO Indexes were moved from St Catherines's House in 1997!

Does that mean if I wanted to look at the BMD, say, for last year I would be able to find them at an Archive/Library?  How soon after a quarter has finished would they be placed in say an on-line index?


 Perhaps there is a source for this sort of info.

The latest BMD's available anywhere online are from 2006 - 5 years ago.
5 years is the cut-off point, I believe.

I think that any BMD within the last 6 months (maybe 1 year) simply aren't available anywhere?

Not sure how recent the records are that can be seen, but as far as I know post 2005 can only be viewed at the places mentioned by KGarrard which doesn't help if you don't live anywhere near any of them.
