Peter, you could get in touch with, 'Beetle' aka Pam.  She's done extensive research on the Tilt name in Dorking/Capel, Surrey.  She might be able to help.  Here's her profile page,  http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=35233

Hi

The link to Lambeth cemetery office is here

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,404819.10.html

They manage the only two civic cemeteries which were open in Lambeth at the time, West Norwood and Lambeth. Churchyards because of overcrowding had been compulsorily closed in the middle 1850s.

Hello Peter (and Jane),

Unfortunately I cannot help with the burial place of William Walker TILT.  I have not been able to make any connection between this group of Worcestershire Tilts and the Tilts who settled in Capel, near Dorking.  I think there must be a link somewhere, but perhaps it is too far back in time to find.

Good luck with your search,

Beetle.

Hi Beetle,

Sorry for my long silence,

My Titls didn't live in Capel they came from Coventry to London in early 1800s. Caleb Tilt became Toll Collector on Waterloo Bridge in 1817 and his son William Walker Tilt a Printer at the South London printing works.

Very best wishes.
