Wow! I can believe the number of responses.  Thanks to everyone.  I am trying to digest it all.  Henry L Syner and Mary Thornicroft were married October 20, 1845 Aston, Juxta, Birminham, Warwickshire, England.

From what I know, Henry L and Mary Thornicroft had two children in B'ham before coming to the US. Joseph John B. 24 DEC 1846 and Henry A. b. 12 OCT 1852.  Searching for other possible children they may have had before leaving B'ham.
I have no idea what Abagail's surname is.  Did John and Abagail have other children than Henry L.  I believe you found some according to the above messages.  Now just try to put things together.  Again, many thanks.

John appears to have been made a Freeman of Bridgnorth in 1826,probably on the basis his father was before him.
John's father James appears on the list as "James his son" which was normal if the father was as well. The only other Syner + derivitives is Thomas Syner made in 1732 which is probably James' father.

Jim, what does Freeman of Bridgnorth mean?  Thanks.  Can we be pretty sure these names are attached to Henry L?

A Freeman of anywhere meant you were allowed to vote in the Parliamentary elections. It also meant you were exempt from paying local tolls. From being a Freeman you could also be elected to Parochial posts, bailiffs.aldermen etc.
Are you sure Henry is of this family?Do you have his marriage cert. stating John as his father?

No I don't.  I was going by records found on Family Search which states John Syner as father and Abagail as mother.  Also on Find a Grave they indicate John Syner /Abigail Unknown.

For Henry's wife, Mary Thornicroft, her death certificate shows her father as joseph Thornicroft, Birmingham England, mother unknown.

I've looked on IGI but can't see Henry, anyway as you have the MI would confirm John as father.
If there's anything else just shout up.

What are some websites I can use to follow-up on Syner and Thornicroft?  It's confusing.
