Hi,

Could any of you old soldiers please tell me where this Address is:- No 14538515
                                                                                                           L/C A.E. Jones
                                                                                                           HQ.Company
                                                                                                           2221.P.O.W. Camp
                                                                                                           B. L. A.
                                                                                                           14. 7. 1945.

I hope to start looking for my dads, Army Records soon. He mentioned the,R.E.M.E at one time, but i am not sure if he was in the R.E.M.E.! So i think i may have trouble finding his records.

Any help would be most welcome.

Hi,

B.L. A is probably British Liberation Army.

As for the 2221 POW a quick search gives the following info 2221 PW Camp Heembeek, Nr. Brusselles.  its possibly the same one.

Hi,

I've not sent for Army records only RAF (few years ago cost £30 and took several months) but it was basic description, etc. plus all courses taken, promotions, posting to various RAF stations around England.
I guess Army records will be similar.

Hi,

I would think that his medical records would be included in his service record;  I doubt they are available online.
