Jessie Chaplin 1876 St Osyth

I was wondering if someone could look up the baptism of Jessie Chaplin born end of 1876 in St Osyth.
She appears in the 1891 and 1881 census with, what appears to be her mother Mahala.
 Now, the problem is, she was born 2 years after her 'father' died. so, she could be illegitimate or, a grand daughter of Mahala.
 The plot thickens. I am asking for a friend who is off to Spain on the 11th and wont be able to order a birth certificate to get here in time.
Any help greatly appreciated as he may just explode with curiosity.

Tendring is the registration district for St Osyth

There is a William Livers/Lisers who is married being a  boarder with them  1881 and 1891 maybe he is the father?

 Thanks for reply.
I had seen the birth cert record but am unsure how long it will take to get here if we order it. I hadn't noticed William Livers though. now, there's a thought.
i am unsure whether Jessie is, in fact,Mahalas daughter or, if she is a Grand daughter brought up by Mahala.
 Mahala would be 46 when Jessie was born which could be right although there would be a 10 year gap between her children.
I was wondering if anyone had access to the Parish records. Though I think I should order the birth cert and hope it gets here on time.
