Burial of Rev Thomas Arnold and his wife Sarah
« on: Monday 29 October 12 07:29 GMT (UK) »
Greetings All,

I would like to know where the Rev. Thomas Arnold (1816-1897) and his wife Sarah (nee Simpson) are buried.
I know he died in Northampton in the subdistrict of St Giles 27 St Paul's Road on the 21 Jan 1897 aged 80, Sarah died in 1902.
He was a Congregationalist Minister and ran a school for the Deaf and mute. If anyone can tell me where he is buried and if there is a headstone I would be gratefull.

thanks

Have you tried the local newspaper or maybe the church magazine?

Hi Sillgen,

Sadly I don't have access to Northampton papers or church magazines as I live in Australia, unless they are online?

thanks

http://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk  has the Northampton Mercury which covers those dates so might be useful or try searching on the A2A archives site and see if anything pops up for that region.

Hi.

Sherree there is a head stone still standing in Billing Road Cemetery.

There are a few folks on the Northamptonshire Boards who may be able to
take a photo for you.

I will look at his burial details in a mo.

Also there is another topic I think about the same man, I will see if I can find it.

At the moment I can not find the other topic, but I do remember
going to ask about him with our Local Studies Librarian last year.
