Bungay Parish Records
« on: Sunday 28 October 12 21:12 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the christening record of Henry Laxon son of Henry Laxon and Anne Allington. Also their marriage entry. It is said that both events took place in 1793. Later Henry's profession was a shoemaker.
Many thanks
Regards
Jayne

Jayne,

Henry Laxon was baptised on 28/12/1793 the son of Henry and Ann (nee Allington) at Bungay St Mary.

There is no mention of their marriage at the same church (although an Elizabeth Allington did get married in 1792) It is possible they married at Bungay Holy Trinity church, but I don't have access to those records for that date.

Pam

Taken from Bungay Holy Trinity parish register.

Henry Laxon and Ann Allington BOTP
Married by banns 8th July 1793
He signed his name, she signed X
Witnesses John Dye and Catharine Burrett

Also a baptism:
Honour d/o Henry and Ann Laxon baptised 12th September 1795

No other Laxon baptisms in either Bungay parish that I could see.

That is fantastic information thank you. I think the reason that there are no further christenings is that they mive to Great Yarmouth where Ann and Rachael were born in 1797 and 1799 respectively.

Many thanks

Would you be able to tell me if his profession was listed anywhere? Henry snr was born in Wickmere which is in North Norfolk and on the 1841 census Ann lists her county as Norfolk too.
