Kilmun
« on: Sunday 28 October 12 16:58 GMT (UK) »
A group of local people are working on the Kilmun graveyard, updating/amending the old inscriptions, recording the newer gravestones and photographing all the stones.  We also want to try and relate groups of stones and tie up families that are buried in the graveyard with the censuses and other information to produce a short precis of them.  Others are visiting each house to get a history of the building and the people that lived there.

This is being done under the auspices of Argyll Mausoleum Ltd see www.argyllmausoleum.org

If anyone is prepared to share a short history of people who lived or died in Kilmun it would stop us duplicating and would be gratefully received and acknowledged.  And of course anything else on Kilmun that might be of interest.

I am of course also happy to help with anyone else's research if possible.

Being new to Roots Chat I hope this is an appropriate posting.

Hi Jean

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

What a great project! Wish you every success with what is to follow and is ongoing. If you have any particular queries or problem that you would like help with, please post details and people here on RC can also try to add.

Also, more importantly, hopefully people can connect and add family details to what you are building as a database.
