POW
« on: Friday 26 October 12 18:56 BST (UK) »
Hello:
I am working on a family tree for my niece, Her family came from Sunderland, England.

I am looking for a POW from World War 1. His name is James Campbell. Born abt 1898 in Sunderland, Durham, England.

I know it is not much to go on.  The next of kin could be Alfred Winn Campell or Lucy Campbell. From what my niece could tell me was that James Campbell and his sisters were taken in by their uncle Alfred.

This looks like the family in 1901
18 Gladstone St Sunderland Durham
Elizabeth Campbell head widow 68 Limehouse London
Lucy daughter single 28 Sunderland
Thomas son single 25 shipwright Sunderland
Alfred w son single 24 shipwright Sunderland
Alice granddaughter 7 Sunderland
Elizabeth granddaughter 5 Sunderland
James grandson 3 Sunderland
Lucy 2 granddaughter Sunderland
RG13 4722 159 32

we are not allowed to give details of 1911 -you can search index free- you will find them

Do you know who the parents of James were?

You posted in Sept requesting information on David Richardson and Lucy Campbell -who had a son in sunderland.
You stated that David and Lucy were both born in Scotland -isn't it possible that Lucy is the granddaughter age 2 in the 1901 census - b Sunderland??

You have not replied to your Sept topic????

It seems Alfred Winn Campbell and Lucy campbell were brother and sister -both unmarried - and they were uncle and aunt to James - next of kin would be his siblings -not aunts or uncles

Thank you for your help. For some reason I missed your reply on this post. I think with your help that James Campbell could be the father of the children
