Where was he born?
« on: Thursday 25 October 12 23:16 BST (UK) »
Looking for the birth place of Daniel Wigmore. Was it Ireland or England?

Just found that he married Margaret Myres 1799 in Wexford, Ireland. And would like to know what year he came to Canada. Think Daniel and his sons moved to Canada sometime before 1817.
They had two sons that I know of, William b.1802 Limerick, Ireland and Robert baptized 1807 Limerick.

In 1831 he was living in Dummer twp., Peterborough Co. Ontario, Canada.
Have no birth for Daniel, death year 1838.

Thanks
Aley

Looks like this is 'your' Daniel Wigmore mentioned- if it's not your post would be worth getting in touch with that person to exchange information-

More details from same person- gives daughter Rachel born 1817 and arrival in Canada as 1829-

Found on a passenger list: Boat; New Swiftsure, May 23, 1829 Quebec to Montreal.
Daniel Wigmore with 3 friends and 2 children under 12. There"s no mention of the names of the friends or the children.

Also on the Canadian archive found this:
Daniel Wigmore,
Return of Protestant families preparing to emigrate from Carlow & Wexford in the coming spring. Nov. 1817.

So if they were preparing to come to Canada in the spring of 1818, where would I look for the passenger list?
