RGA Officer Info?
« on: Sunday 21 October 12 23:03 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I was told that officers in World War One did not have regimental numbers and so I am trying to find out about my great great uncles involvement in the war. His name was Gilbert Leslie Mortimer and he served as a second lieutenant in the Royal Garrison Artillery.

He was born in Leicester and is mentioned in the London Gazette as made second lieutenant on 18 Feb 1918 after being in the Officer Cadet Unit http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues/30541/supplements/2452/page.pdf . I would really appreciate any help in finding his brigade, photos or anything else. I have contacted relatives on mundia and am waiting on a reply.

Thanks,

Ryan
